AI coding agents are getting very good at navigating repositories. Ask an agent: "Where is the API timeout configured?" It will usually find something useful. Ask: "Is the API timeout 60 seconds?" It will probably search the codebase, find a 60, find a timeout configuration, and give you an answer.
