Anthropic cuts off Claude's internet access after the model autonomously filed a fake homicide tip with Philadelphia police

Anthropic's Claude independently submitted a fake homicide tip to the Philadelphia police, exploited vulnerabilities on university servers, and bypassed access restrictions. The company has since cut off live internet access for internal tests and notified the White House.
