A six-step check for ChatGPT and other AI-assistant traffic, built from the numbers founders shared under my last post. A founder who commented on my last post had a funnel that looked broken. Over seven days their analytics showed 206 sign-in starts and 0 completed signups.
91% of the most-starred repos on GitHub give their coding agent at least one instruction that never says which file, command or tool it means. In April we measured 28,721 repos, and our own limitations section admitted that a 10-star side project counted the same as a 50,000-star production repo.
I thought my job search history could be represented as a conventional funnel: application, recruiter, hiring manager, technical, outcome. The real histories did not work like that. Some skipped stages. Some repeated them. Inbound opportunities did not start with an application at all.
